About our approach...

OUTPATIENT PSYCHOTHERAPY
Our goal is to help people efficiently overcome emotional and behavioral problems through personalized care. Our approach is referred to as cognitive-behavioral. In this approach, the starting point is often a person's thinking pattern. The behavior therapy aspect uses techniques that help people regain control over how they act and their reactions. Cognitive therapy focuses on changing thinking patterns, distorted expectations, and unrealistic assumptions that govern or contribute to anxiety problems. We stress problem solving skills, behavior changes, and self-management. We believe people will learn about themselves best in an interactive, collaborative, and encouraging atmosphere. Treatment can often be short-term treatment and focused on current problems and adjustment. When it is needed, we offer longer term, intermittent, and supportive therapy.

DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT
A psychologist's timely and comprehensive psychological report can be used to document the extent of a disability, help develop treatment plans, and for other important purposes. Our clinical assessment services involve using diagnostic tests for various specilized purposes including:

Forensic and neuropsychological examinations
Pre-adoption assessments
Pre-surgery assesment
Disability & diagnostic determination
Chemical dependency evaluations
Memory loss and dementia
Safety-sensitive personnel selection

REFERRALS
We welcome self-referrals and referrals from attorneys, psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and organizations. To make a referral, schedule an initial visit, or if you need more information, please call us at 860 644-4472.
